Harbor Creek School District

The Debby Mattson Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in loving memory by her husband and children. The Mattson family has lived in Harborcreek for many years and many of their children graduated from Harbor Creek School District. Debby Mattson was incredibly involved in the Harbor Creek School District, including volunteering her time with the HC Sports Boosters and Klein Elementary PTO. This scholarship fund was created to honor her legacy: one of compassion, determination, and generosity.

Girard School District

The Debby (Twichel) Mattson Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in loving memory by her husband and children. Debby (Twichel) Mattson and her husband, Edward Mattson, both originally from Girard, attended Girard High School. Even after moving to Harborcreek in 1989, Debby remained incredibly involved in the Girard Class of ’79 Class Reunion planning. This scholarship fund was created to honor her legacy: one of compassion, determination, and generosity.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Graduating senior from one of the above school districts

  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

  • Volunteer or advocate for a community organization or cause

  • Involved in extracurricular activities, including (but not limited to): band, athletics, robotics, student government

  • Plan to continue learning through an accredited vocational or technical school, two-year, or four-year college or university
